I know last week I shared my must-have pinstriped coat…and, well, I was love-struck again when I laid my eyes on this Babaton Jax faux leather pencil skirt from Aritzia! When I attended a surprise b-day a month or so ago, my always super stylish friend came walking in looking like a million bucks with a cropped white long sleeve shirt, this skirt and a killer pair of black patent pumps. I creepily ran towards her, spewing out every compliment I could think of and finally pulled myself together, caught my breath and exclaimed, I need this skirt!!. I made sure to grab Steve to show him that skirt was happening and he could expect it to arrive at his office over the next week or so.
I typically steer clear of anything too form-fitting, but as I am growing more and more comfortable in my own skin, I saw this skirt not just as another pretty piece to add to my wardrobe, but also as a small victory in learning to love my body. Is it possible that I could pull this off and even feel…geez, I don’t know, sexy?
So the skirt came in and while I wouldn’t necessarily say I felt sexy, I will go as far to say that I felt pretty gosh darn chic! I loved the fit and the length of the skirt was great, even with my petite frame. The slit in the front and back make it easy to move around in and are cut low enough where you won’t need to worry about giving anyone a show!! Not being used to the fit around my derrière, I took a peek into Steve’s wardrobe and snuck this v-neck sweater that adds just the right amount length and is on par with the oversized trend!
