About fall. And these overalls. And these booties. But first, back to fall. Cool weather, cozy sweaters, layers galore, pumpkin patch outings, apple picking, crunchy leaves…there is so much to look forward to as we transition into a new season. What I love even more than everything that comes with fall is everything that fall represents, to me anyway. Letting go, balancing darkness with light and acknowledging the impermanence of everything. As I embark on this new journey to really grow and become “unstuck” (more on that from this earlier post), I know there will be a lot of letting go of past habits, thoughts and behaviors. I will be learning to better balance the positive and negative that comes my way, and I am hoping to gain more of an appreciation for life and the little things each day brings knowing that we are only guaranteed the moment we are in. It’s going to be an exciting time of year!
Now onto zee outfit! With fall moving in, I can finally get back to slacking on my pedicures and buckle up in some new boots and booties! If you’re on the lookout for some new boots this season, might I suggest checking out Marshalls? Whether you’re into flat boots, heeled boots, ankle boots, over-the-knee boots, laced up boots (you get the idea)…Marshalls has you covered, seriously. They have a ton. Go now!
I have been on the lookout for some casual ankle to mid-calf booties that can work with a pair of jeans or a dress/skirt and tights. Something comfortable that I can throw on to run some errands, but stylish enough to wear out on the town too. It’s hard for me to stray away from a good heel, so booties that offer me a little extra height is also important. I already have 2 pairs of brown ankle booties, so I would prefer a pair grey or black. Now, I was all set to venture out and find myself a pair of these booties I’ve been dreaming of, but thanks to the awesome folks over at Marshalls, I did not have to go farther than my front door!! They must read minds over there . So thanks to Marshalls, today I am teaming up with them to debut these fabulous Frye ankle boots! I couldn’t have picked a more perfect pair. I love the height, color and the subtle crisscrossed detail. These retailed for over $225, but you can find these at Marshalls for $149!!
Maybe all the country music I’ve been listening to lately really got to me, but I’ve been loving the overall trend and recently picked up this pair the other day at one of my favorite Chicago boutiques, Akira. My first thought was to put them with a pair of heels, but once I saw the boots, it was only fitting I try the two together…and I they are a perfect match:) . The length of the shaft works well with the cropped and rolled leg, keep the overall look cool and casual. I look forward to bringing you a diverse set of looks with these boots throughout the year. Any suggestions on how you would wear them?
