In Transition

Marshalls Project Fab, Spring

It’s crazy to think that May is just a week away!  Where did these past few months go?  May I have them back please?!  Yeeshsk!

I’m only kidding!  I, for one, am extremely excited for May!  Aside from the warmer weather, longer days and everything starting to bloom, history shows that the month of May is actually a pretty awesome month of transition for Megan Jedinski…so I’m kind of banking on that this year :D.

You see, 3 years ago this May I left the corporate world to run my nonprofit I had co-founded.  While I decided to close the nonprofit shortly thereafter, that year would prepare me for the next chapter in my life…Stylish & Scatterbrained, which was launched May 2013.  Fast forward to May 2014, and I was strongly considering leaving the world of blogging.  However, when Marshalls reached to me that same month and presented me with an opportunity to join their Project Fab team, I decided it wasn’t my time to stop quite yet.  And I’m really thankful I stuck with it.  I have learned so much about myself over this past year and really opened my eyes to the possibilities of what’s out there and what I am capable of.  Needless to say, I’m really looking forward to May 2015, it may be my best year yet! (see what I did there ;) )

Speaking of transition, I’m still waiting for that warm weather that is supposed to be coming along with spring!  We’ve been getting a few glimpses here and there over the past few weeks in Chicago, so I’m hopeful that one of these days it will be here to stay! In the meantime, Marshalls paired me up with the perfect lightweight overcoat to help with these chillier days and a great go-to bag that I will definitely be sporting well into the summer months.  I love the contrast of dark and light with this look.  The black accessories keep the look balanced and the shoes play up the color of the coat in a subtle way, just the way I like it!

Is there a time of year that seems to speak to you?  What are some of your favorite transitional pieces this spring?
